Pedestrian and Motorist Are Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Long Island

On the night of Friday, November 4, a pedestrian and a motorist were killed in a multi-car accident on a road in North Bellmore, Long Island. The Nassau County Police Department stated that at approximately 9:30 p.m., 20-year-old Stephen A. Rossman, of Seaford NY, was driving a 2014 Nissan Rogue at an excessively high rate of speed and traveling in the western direction on Jerusalem Avenue in North Bellmore, New York. He reportedly struck the back of a 2007 Nissan Altima, which then spun out of control and hit a 2013 Subaru headed in the eastern direction on Jerusalem Avenue.
The Altima then allegedly hit a pedestrian from Wantaugh NY while she was crossing Jerusalem Avenue. The female pedestrian was later declared dead at the scene of the auto accident. She was 45 years old at the time of her death.
The Rogue reportedly proceeded west and hit a dumpster, which subsequently struck a 2005 Nissan that was headed west. The 2005 Nissan sustained significant damage to the rear of the vehicle.
As Rossman’s car came to a halt, it reportedly struck a 2006 Ford box truck that was parked on Jerusalem Avenue. The driver of the truck was later declared dead at the scene of the crash.
Meanwhile, the person operating the Altima was transported to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Those who operated the Subaru and 2005 Nissan declined medical attention at the scene.
Police are currently conducting an investigation into the fatal auto accident.
