A man from Ozone Park in Queens NY suffered the tragic loss of his wife after a motorist crashed his BMW into the man’s car. The deadly car accident happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 in South Ozone Park. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly sped through a stop sign in the vicinity of 115th Avenue and 130th Street. Immediately after the car accident, the other driver allegedly fled the scene.
Police in Queens New York have been looking for the motorist who allegedly caused the crash, which resulted in the death of 40-year-old Zaalika Rasool. The motor vehicle accident also caused severe injuries to the victim’s daughter, Sarah, who is just nine years old. According to the victim’s husband, Azaan Rasool, the other motorist was driving at 100 mph. Although Rasool attempted to swerve in an effort to move away from the other vehicle, he was unable to avoid a collision.
Immediately after the crash, Rasool discovered that his wife had perished in the accident. He also saw that his daughter had a huge gash in her forehead. The young victim is currently in the hospital, where her condition is stable. The girl suffered broken bones and bruises in the car accident. Thankfully, it is anticipated that she will recover from her accident-related injuries.
The woman who died in the auto accident has been described as a loving mother, a devoted gardener, and an accomplished chef of Guyanese food. She was a clerk at the Queens Department of Transportation.
This marks the second significant tragedy for the Rasool family. Rasool’s brother, Sadik, lost his wife, Amenia, in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001.
