A motor vehicle crash resulted in misdemeanor charges of aggravated drunken driving and cocaine possession for 35-year-old Sahm Adrangi, founder and chief investment officer of Kerrisdale Capital Management. The accident occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, when Adrangi was driving a 2015 BMW Convertible on Montauk Highway in the vicinity of Bluff Road in Amagansett, New York. He reportedly crashed into a Ford SUV, which was going in the opposite direction.
The driver of the SUV was injured in the drunk driving accident, but police did not elaborate on the nature or severity of her injuries.
According to police, each motorist stated that the other had driven over the double yellow line prior to the collision. Police eventually issued a speeding ticket to Adrangi, who allegedly refused to take a breath alcohol test at police headquarters. As a result of this refusal, his driver’s license was suspended. Justice Steven Telusky subsequently set bail at $1,000, which Adrangi posted in order to secure his release from police custody.
