Motorcycle accident law is designed to protect victims’ rights while holding those responsible for the crash responsible. The law addresses a number of issues, including the following:
A motorcycle accident can cause a wide range of injuries, including relatively minor ones (for example, broken bones and “road rash”) and catastrophic ones (including back, burn, spinal cord, and brain injury). In the most tragic of outcomes, a motorcycle accident can cause wrongful death.
After a motorcycle accident injury or death, when the victim (or his surviving family members) can prove that another party’s actions or negligence caused the motorcycle accident that caused the motorcyclist’s injuries, the negligent party can be held liable for the crash and made to pay damages. Proving liability is at the crux of a motorcycle accident lawsuit.
The size of this motorcycle accident settlement depends on a number of factors, including the circumstances of the crash, the severity of the victim’s injuries, state motorcycle accident laws, and the skill of the victim’s attorney. The victim’s settlement may cover his medical expenses related to the crash, lost income, decreased earning potential, and additional losses.
