In an interview broadcast on the Calgary radio program The Eyeopener, Mitchell Proner discussed why the captain of the Costa Concordia is not solely to blame for the shipwreck that resulted in at least 16 deaths. He also reiterated that victims of the cruise ship accident are entitled to "fair compensation."

Miami station WPLG conducted a telephone interview with Mitchell Proner, the lead attorney in a lawsuit against the owners and operators of the Costa Concordia cruise ship. The parent company of the operators of the ship is Carnival Cruise Lines, which is based in Florida, where the class action is being filed.
